Interview with a Current Vape User By Raze Ambassador, Logan Stacy
Interview with a Current Vape User
Hello, my name is Logan Stacy. I am a Raze Ambassador and today I am interviewing a vape user about how it has affected their life while doing it. The vape user would like to stay anonymous so throughout the interview they will be identified as “user”.
Logan: Okay, first question- have you ever been in a relationship while vaping?
User: Some, but most of the time they don’t work out.
Logan: Why?
User: When I was in a relationship they said when I didn’t have my vape, I would have mood swings and act like a whole different person and they would just leave.
Logan: Okay, thank you. Next question: How has your schoolwork been and how has it been sitting in class?
User: It’s fine until I need my vape. Then I can’t focus and have to have it. I start stressing and no longer pay attention.
Logan: Alright, thank you. The next question I want to ask about is how your finances are and how have they been here lately?
User: I mean, like everyone else I spend money, like my allowance. I get $30 a week, so I think that’s pretty good.
Logan: Okay, but how about after you buy a vape?
User: After I get it, it brings me down to $15 to $10 a week, depending on what kind I get.
Logan: Basically, you spend half your money, sometimes more than that?
User: Yes
Logan: So in a month, you more than likely spend more than $80 on vapes?
User: Yes, it depends on how stressed I am.
Logan: May I ask why you haven’t considered quitting?
User: To be honest, I’m addicted. It first started that I was only taking one or two puffs when I got stressed, but it soon got to be more than that.
As you can see in this interview, the person who is using vapes said that they are spending almost all their allowance on vapes. But if they would have considered saving that money instead of buying vapes, they could have done a lot in the process of a year- they could have had the amount to go on a vacation to the beach or a getaway in the mountains. During school, they said that they couldn’t sit in class without wanting their vape- they couldn’t pay attention and were stressed about a lot of stuff. It first started out with taking one or two puffs to calm down, but over time they got addicted. This is why you shouldn’t get caught up in tobacco lies and stay healthy!
